Oh I’ve had an exciting day. Daddy took me out to Inchmarlo and I went through to the Red Drawing Room and greeted a number of Residents and saw a number of my old friends. One of the care home assistants took me out for a short break, a walk and then we went back in again.
I spoke to Mrs F and Mr Albert who were delighted as ever to see me.
Then I went up to Mr M, one of the Home Owners from Queen Victoria Park who was visiting the main house, and I greeted him because he and his wife are always very friendly towards me.
When I came back later Mr Albert had a portrait that he had painted of the two of us and had it framed. I must say I looked as handsome as ever.
You may remember that I was photographed outside our new neighbourhood of Eastpark and it was a nice sunny day. The show house is now open so Daddy, Phyllis and I went up and I had a good sniff all over the house and it was very attractive. It’s got two bedrooms, a study, two bathrooms, a big lounge/dining room, a good sized kitchen and a garage. Just as we were leaving two friends of Daddy’s came in to have a look so I greeted them as well. After all it’s my job to greet everybody at Inchmarlo whether they are in the care home or living within one of the seven distinct neighbourhoods.
I’ve had a busy week. Oscar and Pamela, his Mummy, have been up from London staying with us and he’s now walking all over the place so he seldom leaves me alone! Mummy and Daddy have commented on how patient I am with him, but he has this awful habit of walking up to me, squealing and putting his fingers right into my face.
Oh, but I’ve been poorly. I’ve been back at Ardene, the Vet, 3 times recently. I have had a slight bald patch on my side for some time, but then the hair next to it seemed to be disappearing too, so the vet took scrapings of my skin and sent them away to see if I had thyroid problems! I’ve never heard of a Bulldog having thyroid problems, but who knows. We were then told that my thyroid was fine, so I had to go back for another test. They cut more bits out of my side and stapled my skin back together again. So for the last two weeks I’ve been walking around with 3 staples in my side, but I’ve been very brave and don’t complain.
Today, Daddy took me back to Ardene’s and a nice lady called Mhariann, who’s a nurse, put me up on the table and took my staples out. As you can see I was very calm, cool and collected, just as you’d expect me to be, in spite of these trying circumstances.
On Sunday afternoon we went down to the beach and walked along the promenade and what a super time I had! There were at least 3 puppies being taken out for a walk by their owners and they all came over to greet me, and we sniffed each other all over the place, and it was lovely. We also went down and walked along the sand which was fun.
