30th Anniversary Review

To celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2016, we invited homeowners to submit their views on living at Inchmarlo and were delighted with their replies. The following selection of comments show that our continuing care concept, which offers social, medical and respite care when required, gives confidence to families that their loved ones are being well cared for, and supported when the need arises, while continuing to live independently in their own home.

“My husband loved Inchmarlo, we both enjoyed our time together here. His only regret was he wasted five years in coming to Inchmarlo. We both had lovely memories and feel very privileged to have known a lot of lovely people. Inchmarlo is for all types, I love the peace and quiet.”

“I really enjoy living at Inchmarlo, I have wonderful views from my bungalow. Enough garden around my house to enjoy. Lovely kind neighbours. I have made good friends. I feel safe and enjoy walking in the grounds seeing all the wonderful mature trees and plants. Activities are varied. Inchmarlo House has a good atmosphere and the staff are always helpful and cheerful. I feel very fortunate to be here. My family are pleased for me.”

“Wonderful location – many organised diverse activities offered, giving plenty of opportunities to make friends and enjoy a full social life.”

“I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to live the final stage of my life where all my needs are catered for in such a caring way – an oasis of tranquillity. Shangri-La is not imaginary, it exists.”

“I have been very happy here for 17 years. I’ve made many friends. I enjoy helping with activities in the House and taking part in many others. A strong feature is the excellent security and also the helpfulness of the staff.”

“Community of like-minded people. As social and active as you make it with a variety of activities. Easy access to the outside world. It’s the place for us.”

“The best move I ever made – friendly and supportive neighbours, peace-of-mind – great views, peaceful and quiet – what more could you ask.”

“I have always enjoyed living here, never regretted the move and all my family much appreciate the security and care that they know is provided.”

“I have found all staff and other people, neighbours etc. most friendly and helpful. The social aspect I find amazing, so much going on.”

“We have enjoyed the peace, tranquillity, wildlife and beautiful gardens for over 25 years and our relatives and friends who visit are envious of our perfect location.”

“Enjoy every minute of the environment, the safety, friendliness, great neighbours and great chef at the House.”

“Living in Inchmarlo is just like a warm embrace – it makes you feel good all day long.”

“Living on the estate has been a joy. The safest place in the world. Now my husband is in care at Inchmarlo and is being very well looked after.”

“When we retired and down-sized it was a toss-up between Adelaide, Australia, and Inchmarlo. Inchmarlo won and we have never regretted our decision!”

“The best move we could have made! We have a comfortable house in glorious surroundings, with beautiful views. It is such a peaceful place, yet there are plenty of opportunities to socialise if we want. And, when needed there is invaluable support from Inchmarlo House. It all adds up to peace of mind in our later years.”

“I enjoyed 17 years in my apartment in Queen Victoria Park. Many positives including the quality of the gardens, security and safety. Good companionship and ready access to high quality care staff. I have never been better looked after in my life. I admire Charles Skene’s ability to employ such excellent, competent and caring staff.”

“I have started a walking group and also join the other varied activities at Inchmarlo. I came for the red squirrels and deer, much better than snakes. I have a garden which I am looking forward to developing and landscaping. Also have lots of new friends.”

“A calm and peaceful haven after too many years spent in the chaotic noisy and crowed south. Most friendly, affectionate and caring neighbours. A social community offering a wide range of activities and events with the choice to participate or not. Last but not least, a beautiful private estate and continuous joy to watch the seasons pass amidst our flora and fauna.”
