Our Trees

At Inchmarlo, we are proud to share our gardens with a large number of magnificent trees, some of quite considerable age and a few of notable rarity. We are, in fact, living in an arboretum.

Many of Inchmarlo’s trees have been officially listed by the Tree Register, an organisation which records notable trees throughout Britain and Ireland. Of the 40 notable trees listed, 16 are celebrated as “Champion Trees”. Champion Trees are exceptional examples of their species because of their enormous size, venerable age, rarity or historical significance. Blue plaques, affixed by Inchmarlo homeowners, mark our notable trees.

We provide a list, giving details of the trees recorded by the Tree Register, and a map showing their locations.
